Introduction
AIUB Library Service will be a central facilitator for the educational, recreational,
cultural and informational needs of the whole community .The intention of the Library
services, was to assist patrons in extending library services to university faculty
and students. AIUB has extended library services in many new and innovative directions
by:
- Increasing library members access to library resources
- Introducing users to access information contained in non-book formats (e.g.,
multimedia CD-ROMs, DVDs, online databases and Web sites)
- Provide access to materials to read & view
- Answer questions and help users to find, evaluate, and use information.
- Connect to the online world;
- Provide access to physical and virtual spaces.
Overview
The AIUB Library was started in 1994 in order to cater to the academic and research
needs of the faculty, research scholars, students, and officers. Over the years,
the Library has grown steadily and expanded its services and holdings by leaps and
bounds to live-up to the expectations of its immediate patrons. The book stock is
arranged in a classified sequence based on the Dewey Decimal System (DDC), and the
great majority of volumes in the Library are on open shelves, available for borrowing.
The library of AIUB is the collection of the knowledge and built up a balanced and
rich collection in Business Administration, Science and Technology, Computer and
Social Science. It is an open library system to students of AIUB, which provides
rich collection of books including journals, newsletter, thesis works and CDs. Students
ID cards stand as library card. Students can borrow any books and CDs from the library
for 3 days except the textbook. At present the library has more than 40000 books,
and a student sitting capacity of more than 350. AIUB library has "AIUB Library
system" the software which has been created by university IT department and now
the system is operational i.e., students are now getting the modern facilities.
There are two terminals through which the students and faculty can search for and
locate books that they require. The library is operating on an extensive schedule
from
Sunday –> Thursday 9.00 am to 9.00pm.
Friday 11:00 am to 03:00 pm. and
Saturday 03:00 pm to 07:00 pm.

Mission
The library users expect technology to provide fast and boundless access to information
in all formats. Costs, skill levels, and infrastructure development present ongoing
challenges. Infrastructure, electronic data content, bibliographic databases, and
access to private, costly collections are areas of challenge for AIUB library.
